Where we are....

Well here it goes my first official blog. Of course I have many things that are going on in my head, my heart, and who knows what else. To those of you that are just getting this it may be a surprise. But some of you I don't see very often anymore (Steph) and some I don't get a chance to be with alone for any length of time to bring it up to. I know I have brooched the subject with some but not all, so like I said it may take some getting used to. Here goes: after much thought (and more and more) Chuck and I have decided to be surrogate parents for someone out there who is not as fortunate as we have been. Yes, I thought I wanted another of my own (and who knows maybe someday!) but some things have happened and I have since gotten over that for now!! I know some of you will be worried and some will be excited and I hope all will just be there for me and us if we need. Be there and not look down on us or say it is wrong. It is the right thing. I love being pregnant but we don't need another Polowy running around this just seemed like the natural thing to do. I have seen so much in my last 3 years of being a nurse to know that life isn't fair. There are so many people who would give so much just to have a child and so many out there that just have child after child and then don't really care for them. It is a tragedy. I would love to give someone something that they have dreamed of and just can't obtain.
Where we are in the process. I have contacted an agency out to Chicago called Family Source. They have been wonderful. My brother and sister in law are currently using them and are about 4 steps ahead of us. So that is nice we know what lies ahead!!! We have phoned back and forth a number of times but have yet to meet (its hard when you live far away and have such a varied schedule and oh yeah three kids:). We have sent in our applications, one for the agency and one for potential intended parents. I have an appointment with Pagma (those who work with me know who she is!) on July 7th and she will clear me to become pregnant and have a current pap test (she better anyways). I have already spoken with her privately and gotten her consent to become her patient. I just don't think my small town hospital would be up for this. It sure would give them something to talk about though!! Anyways, after I get the results from the pap and the clearance letter, I have to get my ob records which takes 2 weeks to get. All this takes alot of time. Once all my paper work comes in, the agency will start showing my information to people who might make a match with us. The agency really goes all out and I think protects both parties interest.
SO.... keep this blog and I will try to post as anything new comes up!!!!! I will see some surprised faces I am sure!!!
